Feedback from those who have heard Paula share her story or attended her trainings:

Paula’s story of courage, survival, compassion, and growth will inspire you to think differently about domestic violence, child abuse, and brain injury, and how they intersect. She has changed my life and how I do my work and I’m a better person and a better professional thanks to what she taught me. –Rachel Ramirez, LISW-S, RA, Founder and Director, The Center on Partner-Inflicted Brain Injury, Ohio Domestic Violence Network

This was the absolute best seminar I have ever attended!  When I realized the picture of the woman who had been beaten and strangled on the screen was the trainer standing before me, I could not believe it!  To be able to learn about domestic violence from a victim of repeated trauma throughout childhood and in her adult relationships was an amazing and unique opportunity and I was honored to hear everything she had to say.  To see the strength of this woman, her honesty, as well as her progress in overcoming the effects of trauma in her life, and her dedication to recovery was so uplifting and hopeful for all of us who work with this on a daily basis! Paula is living proof that people can make amazing progress in recovery despite repeated and horrific trauma!  I so admire her decision to share her story, her understanding of anatomy and the body, her recommended continuing study, and her unflagging efforts to change our laws!  I have recommended Paula to our court and I hope she will be able to train our judges and staff as they continue to grapple with all the issues in court that result from domestic violence.  -Deborah Greenham

I saw Paula speak today about her personal story of strangulation and resulting TBI. Her story allowed to group to understand strangulation from not only the perspective of the victim but also as a first responder. Very moving and made the remaining conference much more impactful. Thank you! –Sarah Terrigno
